sun on seawalls

daylight
some clouds the colors
of birch trees

bright October day
Fall days begin to go by
a poem holds the view
still for a moment

some time
in my small study
so I do not miss
small gold leaves
in the wind

early October
sunrise over Lake Michigan
as I read and write
